In 1982, a small group of local musicians formed the Pine Bush Community Band, and performed free public concerts in our area.  Under the direction of Robert G. Groth, the tradition continues today, and the small group has grown to a full concert band.  Rehearsals are held weekly, on Mondays, at the Town of Crawford Government Center.  The band performs about twelve concerts, parades and other events each year.  No auditions are required and membership is free!  Their performance season begins on Memorial Day, and their concerts continue throughout the summer and into the winter holiday season.

PBCB relies on public donations. In addition to free public concerts, they use some of our funding to purchase instruments that you would otherwise not hear in a community band such as a tympani (large copper drums), bass drum, drum set, cymbals, bass clarinet, keyboard, and sound system.   If you would like to help support the band’s efforts, a tax-deductible contribution can be sent to the address below.
