Goshen High School Capital Project
By John Kidd
The Goshen community was invited to attend a groundbreaking ceremony at 9:00 a.m. Tuesday, May 29 at Goshen High School to commemorate the start of construction for the voter-approved $30.48 million capital improvement project.
School leaders, Board of Education members, and students “broke ground” at the future site of the new addition at the high school. The ceremony also included music from Goshen High School students who performed “The Ground” as well as brief remarks from district officials.
Construction for the capital improvement project will officially begin on Monday, June 25, after students are dismissed for the summer.
The project is lead by LAN Associates, Engineering, Planning, Architecture, Surveying, LLP and Triton Construction. As the district marks the beginning of construction, they wants to reaffirm the goals for which this project will achieve: the creation of 21st century learning environments, increased safety and security, modernization of the performing arts program and auditorium, and an upgrade to the athletic facilities at Goshen High School. In addition the project will improve our district-wide information technology (IT) infrastructure. Overall, the project will enhance our students and benefit the community.
Thank you to the Board of Education and the tremendous support of the Goshen community for making this vision a reality.
